Meet SpoLive: The App That Gets You Closer to the Sports You Love
Watching a live sporting event is an exciting experience. You can enjoy it by hosting a viewing party at home with friends or by seeing your favorite players live at the stadium. There are so many ways technology is improving the sports watching experience allowing fans to be more connected to a game, while also connecting with other fans.
NTT Communications (NTT Com) recognizes the power of technology to connect people and sports which is why it has developed SpoLive, a newly created, advanced technology powered, mobile application aiming to better connect fans with each other and the sports they love!
The SpoLive Experience
SpoLive uses artificial intelligence (AI) to interact with fans around the world in both English and Japanese. Users can learn the rules of a game and receive commentary in real-time to understand what’s going on during the game. This is made possible with NTT Com’s AI Engine, COTOHA Virtual Assistant, which provides a “human-like dialogue”. Along with the real-time dialogue, SpoLive makes it easier for fans to connect with other fans through its meetup features.
With more advancements to come, everyone will be able to enjoy the game together in new ways, whether at the event or watching remotely.
NTT Com will continue to improve the SpoLive app, adding in new features, in preparation for three major sporting events occurring in Japan in 2019, 2020, and 2021. Initially, the app will focus on rugby, but has plans to expand its platform to include other sports.
Building an Interactive Community
The sports community is becoming more connected and interactive thanks to the advancement of technology. NTT Com is utilizing technologies such as AI and augmented reality (AR) to enhance the communication between fans and offering opportunities to increase knowledge and appreciation for and about their favorite teams and sports.
With SpoLive, fans of all levels and ages can connect with one another and enjoy the sport they love. As NTT Com improves the SpoLive app, fans will be able to connect through three exclusive experiences:
1. Understanding the rules of the game with commentary in real-time and Q&A correspondence through the use of the app’s AI technology.
2. Specially created content provided by the team shared through Augmented Reality (AR) to increase interaction between fans doing various tasks/missions assigned prior, during, or after a game.
3. Meetup events and discovery of fellow fans with the possibility to take part in official team events.
