The designer’s job is not just about creating beautiful visuals. Ultimately, their design work should contribute to company sales growth.
As designers, however, we tend to focus too much on creating something that simply looks good. We need to keep asking ourselves how our work will contribute to improving company performance and not lose focus.
Designing for money may not sound right. But if you don’t think about how your designs will positively impact the company at all, then you don’t have the right mindset for a designer.
When you design something that doesn’t add value to the business, you’re designing something people don’t really care about no matter how pretty it looks.
