Sleipnir 3 demo @SFNewTech
Almost 200 techie enthusiasts gathered at Mighty Tuesday night for the July 10th rendition of SF New Tech. We, the btrax team, tabled and presented the Sleipnir 3 Web browser for Windows, Mac, Android, iPhone / iPad and Windows Phone. This cross-platform browser is the flagship product from our Japanese client Fenrir, a software developer company.
At the table, we had flyers and demoed Sleipnir 3’s innovative features to curious attendees. We were able to get everyone’s attention quickly as we mentioned that Sleipnir has already had over 30 million downloads in Japan. Some of the people we talked to had already heard of the browser, and one man had even already had downloaded it on his Android phone! The general reception was very positive, and the most frequent comments were their liking of the “gesture” navigation, and the clean sleek look of the Sleipnir browser. Almost everyone we spoke with said that they would download the application and give it a try.
Then, Greg Viloria (@SocialGreg) and Rui Rong (@MisterRong) took the stage as Fenrir’s Marketing Evangelists to present a 5-minute pitch and demonstration of Sleipnir 3 and the Fenrir Linker tool between the browser on the MacBook and iPad/iPhone. During the presentation, Greg explained the “bridging” of desktops and mobile devices, and how that directly translates into improvement of productivity in everyday life communicating with tools such as Dropbox and Evernote on the cloud. Through the demo, Rui showed how Sleipnir could be used to set up a gathering at a restaurant with Yelp and Facebook through the Linker tool. Sleipnir allows for direct pushing of addresses and phone numbers straight to the mobile phone, so users may easily turn on GPS and/or give the business a call for making reservations. In closing, Greg added that Sleipnir will soon integrate with Gmail and Google Reader, giving the audience more to look forward to.
We also collected a questionnaire from the audience, with about 2/3 of them citing that they will likely try it and also likely recommend it to a friend. Almost 3/4 complimented on Fenrir’s Linker functionality and rated the web browser positively overall. Great success!
