Shaping My Future Through My btrax Internship
After spending some time as a summer intern at btrax, I have experienced how this company can shape your future. For me, this experience has changed my life by understanding to be a team player in a company.
First Week Jitters
When I first entered btrax, I felt both confident and nervous at the same time entering a job environment for the very first time. At first, I was anxious to know what I have to do but I began to think in my mind, saying “what can I do?” My first week was pretty wild with gmail and skype messages coming one after another and trying to digest what they mean and what I have to do.
The following week, my anxiety level decreased because I brought my A-game to show everyone what I had done for our projects. Every day when I entered btrax I focused on my work. I sat down on my chair, turned on my laptop, and finished my tasks.
Meeting and Interacting with New People
The key thing for an intern is communicating with your colleagues. I was a little bit shy to meet someone new, but now I have confidence to step up and speak. I really enjoyed talking with the workers, including Brandon the CEO. For example, Social Media Manager, Greg, and I like to discuss how we are doing on a daily basis and he would make it a great environment for me to work.
Whenever I want some more work, I asked someone if there is something I can do. They would ask me to do some research on anything that involves our projects like client articles, photos search for marketing projects or finding web links for our client projects.
What Type of Technical Tools did you Use?
I used HTML quite a bit. I think HTML coding is one of my basic computer languages because it is easy to work with for web design. Compared to other computer languages I am studying, HTML is easy to search for any errors or make some changes in the coding. I learned HTML Coding language by myself when I was a freshman at San Jose State.
At btrax, I was using HTML coding in one project/webpage called Axure NTT Data Agilenet. With this experience, I feel more confident to do more HTML coding projects because I love to show my creativity, hard work and determination. In the future, I want to create my own webpage that sparks my personal interests.
What have you experienced in btrax?
My experience as a btrax intern made me become a resourceful and hard-working member of the company. I was able to use my basic knowledge of the web, such as reading HTML coding, testing and debugging. This experience had made me feel very determined to work at the cross-cultural company like btrax.
Next year, I like to work at btrax again. Everyone in btrax thinks of me that I am a person who can do a variety of things. For me, I believe them. btrax helped me to communicate with new people from different backgrounds.
