aquoria, The Photo-Sharing Service That You’ve Been Waiting For
In September, I announced the open Beta launch of aquoria in a blog post giving a formal introduction and outlining its unique value to the users. A couple of months and countless hours spent working hard behind the scenes, we have grown to a modest, yet loyal user base of just over 400 as of start of this month, and steadily increasing!
For those of you still wondering what this aquoria is, simply put, it’s a photo-sharing web-service that allows multiple participants to upload photos from various devices and facebook accounts into one collective album. The details of which can be found on our newly designed homepage at www.aquoria.com. Below are the main 4 concepts behind aquoria:
- Photluck: a potluck party for everyone’s photos
- Memoria: compilation of your life’s highlight reel
- Nostalgia: it has to start building somewhere
- Reconnect: stay in touch with old friends out of touch
In the last few months, we have diligently been working to improve performance of the service, as well as adding more functions to make using aquoria easier, and more convenient. We’ve been going out on start-up mixers organized by the SFAMA as well as giving pitches and sponsoring tech events such as SFNewTech.
We’re also currently running a campaign to collect feedback from our users. Register for aquoria, try it out, and leave us a comment on GetSatisfaction to be entered in our contest to win the brand new iPad Mini! Be sure to get your feedback in by the end of the month for your bid!

Actual User Feedback

“This solves so many problems with collecting photos from family functions, and sharing with extended families!”
“I can totally use this to import photos from when I studied abroad years ago. I’d love to reconnect and catch up with people I met back then and also see some of the photos that they took!”
“This is a good app for sharing photos. I like how easy it is to share & discuss with friends and family. Great app!”
“Wow, I can’t believe how fast and smoothly you guys got an HTML5 application to run! Excellent coding!”
The aquoria team huddled together in our SF hub! A few more of us couldn’t make it from Tokyo…
