Mizuho Maeda
A LITTLE ABOUT ME
Mizuho Maeda is a passionate service designer dedicated to creating user-centered solutions that drive positive change. Born in Fukuoka and raised in Kobe, she developed a global perspective early on through international studies and experiences, including a one-year exchange at San Francisco State University and Japan’s “Ship for World Youth” program. Her journey into design thinking began with a career programs in Kobe, later leading her to study at the Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design and the University of the Arts London. At Panasonic, she blended business insights with human-centered design, spearheading international marketing for refrigerators and washing machines. Mizuho's entrepreneurial spirit flourished through programs like Sido and CHANGE, where she developed a 360-degree keychain camera to combat sexual violence—earning recognition as a top finalist. Her business idea later received internal funding at Panasonic, where she led its business development efforts toward commercialization. Her experience in corporate innovation and user research solidified her belief that impactful solutions go beyond products; they must deeply resonate with users. Now at btrax, Mizuho applies her expertise to help businesses embrace service design and innovation. She is especially passionate about tackling social challenges like gender equality through design-driven solutions. When she’s not designing, she’s exploring new cultures—having traveled to 30+ countries, including Uzbekistan, Oman, and Senegal.
