We found this article(Japanese) the other day and found it interesting that many very successful web companies in Japan have very similar aspects in their office. In general, they have an unbelievably impressive lobby / reception areas, very modern and cool conference rooms, but inside a less than spacey work area for their employees. Unique to the Japanese culture that people treat their guests very well, but when it comes to their own people it becomes efficiency and cost effectiveness. This duality in the culture shows in their offices as well. Let’s have a look at four of the top web company’s offices below.

DeNA

DeNA is one of the most successful mobile platform providers in Japan. They provide a social mobile game platform called Mobage Town.  Their office is located in the Shibuya area of Tokyo.

GREE

Another mobile giant in Japan is Gree. Gree provides Japan’s leading mobile social gaming platform.Their office is located in the famous Roppongi area of Tokyo.

CyberAgent

CyberAgent is the largest online advertisement agency in Japan. They are an information technology (IT) conglomerate that operates in five business segments. Blog-related Media  under the name Ameba, Advertising, Billing and Contents-related Media segment, Commerce-related Media segment, Internet Advertising Agency, Investment Development. Their office is located in the Shibuya area of Tokyo.

Start Today Co., Ltd. is known for its fashion ecommerce site called: ZOZOTOWN. They are known for operating the biggest fashion oriented website in Japan. Their office is located in the prefecture of Chiba just outside of Tokyo.
