A Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) survey of 864 foreign companies in Japan last fall revealed 63%said they plan to expand their business in Japan. Their plans for scaling up revolve around sales and ramping up production capacity. This growth comes at the same time as Japan is facing a lack of skilled workers due to decades of low birthrates, lengthening lifespans and a huge population rapidly approaching retirement age.

「SF NewTech March 2008」

Blog:Chinese Market
China is the largest country in East Asia and the third country in the world with a population of over 1.3 billion. It is one-fifth of the world’s population, and it is the populous country in the world. There are many Chinese and people who understand Mandarin all over the world. There is over 40 million overseas Chinese living in Southeast Asia, Canada, United States, Australia, Europe, and Brazil just to name a few.U.S. has 2.4 million Chinese immigrant/Chinese American population, and it is large population in Asian population.
The China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC) released the “21st Report of China Internet Development” on January 17th in Beijing. By December 31, 2007, the total number of Internet users in China reached 210 million (only 5 million less than the United States); ranked second in the world; and the number is expected to become the world’s largest in early 2008.
China has grown rapidly from a Third World country to an economic power that many predict will rival the USA and Japan in coming years. A survey by the U.S.-China Business Council found that 83 of the 100 U.S. firms that responded were profitable last year in China. Many brand companies like Coca-Cola, Adidas, McDonald, GE, Panasonic, and VISA stamped their brand name on this market through the Beijing Olympics 2008.
The Internet has been extending fairly rapidly in China’s rural areas, with the number of rural net users reaching 37.41 million by the end of June, approximately 5.1 percent of the total of rural population. NDRC’s (National Development and Reform Commission) report said the rapidly improving telecommunications infrastructure in rural areas has obviously facilitated the increase of net users. In its 11th Five-Year Program (2006-2010), the Ministry of Information Industry vowed to extend phone service to every village and enable every township to have access to Internet.
